Superior Manufacturing Group, Inc., an industry leading manufacturer of floor mat products announces the appointment of Jim Wood as its new President.

A family owned business from the start with roots dating back to the early 1940’s, Jim Wood represents the third generation to lead Superior Manufacturing Group. Mr. Wood brings 30+ years of engineering, operations, and systems management experience including the past 25 years spent with Superior Manufacturing Group. Originally hired as an Engineer in 1987, Mr. Wood also held the positions of Plant Manager, and most recently Director of MIS prior to his being named President.

Mr. Wood holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a Master’s degree (MBA) from the University of Illinois Chicago.

Superior Manufacturing Group is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois with additional manufacturing and distribution facilities in Georgia, Mississippi, Rhode Island, and The Netherlands. For over 60 years, Superior has been dedicated to serving the needs of the floor matting industry with quality products, customer service, and sales support. Superior’s many brands can be found in a wide variety of markets and applications including industrial/safety, commercial, food service, and most recently a complete line of floor mat products for the home.
